Microfiction Monday # 20 ?
Welcome to Microfiction Monday,
where a picture paints 140 characters.
Susan over at Stonyriver hosts Microfiction Monday.
I want to dedicate this weeks MM to my husband,
the most optimistic Cubs' fan I know!
Let's just hope Billy does his job and the Cubs keep winning.
Here's this week's picture, and my story to go with it:
Now that Billy the Goat is uncrated
we need to get him inside Wrigley Field
so he can break the 100 yr old Chicago Cubs losing curse!
The rules are simple,to use Susan's picture she posts then compose a story up to 140 characters including spaces and punctuation.
Then hop on over to Susan's and leave your name. She even has a brilliant character counter to help us count.
As Susan promises, it's fast, it's fiction, it's fun!

I love it!! That goat can break the curse if anyone can!! Can't believe how much fun this is every week!! Hope you have great week, Peggy!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
I know some teams in the UK who could do with that kind of help :-)
ReplyDeleteNice one.
Sylvia;
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined when you did.
You're always a bright light for me!
Have a great week!
Anthony;
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on that one. Many teams could use a good goat!
Thanks Anthony, I love reading your post every week@
Great one Peggy! I can wish that a goat can break the Cubs curse as "my" team the Red Sox has been through the same thing until 2004! And the Cubs don't play the Red Sox so I am not cheating on them! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteCheryl;
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your wishes. I love that!
I was so happy when the Red Sox won' It is the Cubs turn, hope they believe that too!
Have a great week friend!
Well let's hope that Billy the Goat doesn't eat the grass on the field in the process. LOL Love this. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteuh hum...Go Sox
ReplyDeleteokay, I laughed..but...
Thanks Thom;
ReplyDeleteJust so he break the curse, he can eat all the grass he wants!
Have a great week friend!
Suz;
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooo...go Cubbies go!
100 years is a long time without a win!
Have a great week!
When the Red Sox broke the 'Curse of the Bambino' in 2004, 'The Sultan of Swat' was not to be found.
ReplyDeleteIt's all between those 'Cubbies' ears...and I am a Mets fan.
Good post though!
Go Billy! Go Cubs! 100 years is way too long for a curse of any kind.
ReplyDeleteReally like your take on this. Have a good week.
go Cubs! let the Billy goat be your good luck!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will work peggy but nice Idea.. Thanks for leaving the comment this morning on my flash fifty five. here s my contribution for Micoficton Monday.

shakira
Ahh...Cubs fans...hopeless romantics, right?
ReplyDeleteA dear friend of mine will find this ironically funny -- or she'll view it the same way as your husband. With optimism!
Christopher;
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it, the curse is all between the ears. As lifetime cub fans, we love them regardless of losing the top prize every year. But gosh darn it, a win would be spectacular!!!
Cubs play the Mets,and it's usually a sell out crowd!
Thanks so much for your comment.
Thanks Michael;
ReplyDeleteAs Cub fans, we always think that this will be our year. Maybe they will believe it too!
Go Cubs Go....
Thanks so much Michael, have a great week!
kristine;
ReplyDeleteFrom your lips to Gods ears , Cubs are gonna win today! (fingers crossed)
Larry Larry Larry;
It could work, if the Cubs would only believe!
I'll be over soon, can't wait to read about Billy the Kidd
John;
ReplyDeleteI bet you Brits are a bit confused with a post like mine. We have to have some reason why the Cubs continue to loose.
Have a great week and I'll try and not be so "local" with my poats.
Are you SURE he's a Cubs fan? Maybe he's a goat spy for another team.
ReplyDeleteSouthLakesMom;
ReplyDeleteYou nailed us Cub fans. Every year before the first game is ever played, my husband always says that we(Cubs) are tied for first.
I just want to win one time and I will be able happy!!!
Have a very good week and I see you next time!
Shakira;

Larry
perhaps the cubs should consider changing their mascot (or have they just done it?)
ReplyDeleteloved it, and the tribute to your hubby :)
juliana;
ReplyDeleteThe goat isn't the mascot, he was the cause of the curse that happened a hundred years ago.
Thank you for your great comments each week!
See you next time.
Awe, thanks Larry, I feel the same!
ReplyDeleteAn all purpose goat...good luck charm and outfield trimmer. :)
ReplyDeleteHope;
ReplyDeleteI love the way you think AND I agree 100%!
The ultimate all purpose goat!
Every household should have one>
