Microfiction Monday # 20 ?

Welcome to Microfiction Monday,
where a picture paints 140 characters.
Susan over at Stonyriver hosts Microfiction Monday.

I want to dedicate this weeks MM to my husband,
the most optimistic Cubs' fan I know!
Let's just hope Billy does his job and the Cubs keep winning.

Here's this week's picture, and my story to go with it:

Now that Billy the Goat is uncrated
we need to get him inside Wrigley Field
so he can break the 100 yr old Chicago Cubs losing curse!

The rules are simple,to use Susan's picture she posts then compose a story up to 140 characters including spaces and punctuation.
Then hop on over to Susan's and leave your name. She even has a brilliant character counter to help us count.
As Susan promises, it's fast, it's fiction, it's fun!

  5. Great one Peggy! I can wish that a goat can break the Cubs curse as "my" team the Red Sox has been through the same thing until 2004! And the Cubs don't play the Red Sox so I am not cheating on them! Have a wonderful week.

  11. When the Red Sox broke the 'Curse of the Bambino' in 2004, 'The Sultan of Swat' was not to be found.

    It's all between those 'Cubbies' ears...and I am a Mets fan.

    Good post though!

  17. Ahh...Cubs fans...hopeless romantics, right?

    A dear friend of mine will find this ironically funny -- or she'll view it the same way as your husband. With optimism!

  18. Christopher;

    You nailed it, the curse is all between the ears. As lifetime cub fans, we love them regardless of losing the top prize every year. But gosh darn it, a win would be spectacular!!!
    Cubs play the Mets,and it's usually a sell out crowd!
    Thanks so much for your comment.

  19. Thanks Michael;

    As Cub fans, we always think that this will be our year. Maybe they will believe it too!

    Larry Larry Larry;

    It could work, if the Cubs would only believe!
    I'll be over soon, can't wait to read about Billy the Kidd

  21. John;

    I bet you Brits are a bit confused with a post like mine. We have to have some reason why the Cubs continue to loose.
    Have a great week and I'll try and not be so "local" with my poats.

    loved it, and the tribute to your hubby :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. juliana;

    The goat isn't the mascot, he was the cause of the curse that happened a hundred years ago.
