Musical Monday is brought to you by Diane of Good Morning Glory.
Go and check her out, I think you'll like what you see.
The rules are very simple, post a song that's moved you during the week
and list the words, if you can.
Diane has given us another great theme this week for Musical Monday.
We are supposed to pick a song and dedicate the song to a friend or loved one.
So this week, I picked "Baby It's You" by Smith and I am dedicating it to my daughter Julie.
Last week Julie called and wanted me to listen to a new song that she discovered while watching the movie "Death Proof" by Quinten Tarantino.
She was just in love with it and thought that I might like it too.
After listening to the song yesterday, I knew that I had heard it before and it wasn't because I saw the movie.
Sure enough,I had heard it before and maybe some you have too.
It was first recorded in 1969 by the group Smith.
It's an old song,... that's new again because of Quinten.
So this is for Julie, my heart!
It's not the way you smile that touched my heart.
It's not the way you kissed that tears me apart.
Many, many, many nights go by.
I sit alone at home and cry over you.
What can I do?
Don't want nobody, nobody
Cause, baby, it's you.
Baby, it's you.
Never heard this before but I loved it and I love your dedication to your daughter. You know her name is the same as my mom. :) WOOT!!! Loved this. Have a great week ahead :)
