What's on my shelf ?

I love books and am always looking for the next best one. This meme seems easy enough for even me to tackle and I thought it would be interesting to find out what others were reading too. Or what others have read,...or like me,... had every intention of reading this summer, but haven't finished them all yet.

I have about four books that fall into that category.

This meme is a simple one. Collect the book that you have most handy, turn to page 161, find the 5Th complete sentence, and cite the sentence on your blog. Next (of course) is to pass it on to 5 others.

I literally turned to my right where I keep my books for reading before I turn out the lights. Stuck my hand in my book bag and pulled out The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Fooett.

This book takes place is Merry ole England, way before King Henry the eighth started hacking off his wives's heads. (Interesting way of getting rid of the old wife in order to usher in the new!)

Let me set this scene .

After approaching Aliena (his future bride), William found her reading a book. In order to keep his mind off the way her breasts moved under her blue silk gown, he asked her what she was reading.

"It's the story of a king called Alexander the Great, and how he conquered wonderful lands in the east where precious stones grow on grapevines and plants can talk"

Now comes the part where I'm supposed to pick five other bloggers. Don't hate me and throw daggers, this really was fun for me.

Now I come to Joyce of http://justifiedjourney.blogspot.com/ who was one of my first blogs that I added to my faves list when I first started blogging. She has just returned from a great beach vacation on the west side of Florida.
I wonder what was in her beach bag as she sat quietly on the sand this past summer?

Finally Fiona of http://www.banteringblonde.com/ Maybe she'll respond with a video like she does so often on her blog. She is great with her camera and I can't wait to hear what's she might pick up to read.

The Bag Meme

I picked up this tag over at http://legalmist.blogspot.com/ I thought that it would be fun..

After having to go to the dermatologist today for a full cancer check..always love those full body Dr appointment's . . I took my shower and shaved anything that needed shaving , got dressed and left for the Dr's office. I was back home and at my computer 1 hour later...It took me 15 minutes to get there and 15 minutes home, then I stopped at the cleaners... so the whole Dr appointment was less then an 1\2 hour.
NICE!

Here are the rules for your purse.

1.Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No you can't go into your closet and pull out your favorite purse. We want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house.

So here's the bag that I have been carrying for the last month off and on. It's faux something...not sure what and definitely a fall /winter purse, because it's a little hairy! (sounds kind of creepy/ crawly)
I was up in Chicago visiting with my sister-in-laws and we were having lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. My first time there and I liked it very much ..defiantly not organic food!
We waited a very long time for a table so I was able to people watch a little. I saw a very attractive women with a purse like the one in the picture. She had on all black and I just thought the purse really stood out! When I went home to Dayton..I kept looking for a similar bag like the one I saw...I think it was a whole year before I saw a bag that I liked and it was on sale.

I think the purse was around $30.00... and I had a 20% coupon!
Too tired to do the math.

That was over ten years ago and I'm finally using it. For some reason I never thought to use it...seemed fancy compared to my usual black or brown purses. So I saw it on my shelf about two months ago and thought it's now or never...
...next stop Goodwill.

I am not a one purse at a time person...I carry one for a week or two then I change it up. I don't like the purse to match the shoes, I like to mix it up ...

This is the optional part...you decide if you want to display the contents or not! Sorry my stuff is pretty boring , I just threw it together before I left the house.

I usually have a lot more unnecessary stuff and a bigger purse. I usuall like to carry paper clips, sudoku puzzles, a pencil, glass case, Kleenex, breath mints,roll on perfume keys, gloves etc
I'm usually a big purse kind of girl!



I'll start with the bottom left and move around the top and then down the right side.

1.. My camera case that I try to carry with me always now just in case I see a great sky .

2. My receipt from the dermatologist office

3.My information on different skin conditions and what they look like, moles, skin cancers. etc

4.a pen,. next to it my checkbook

5.My huge comb...that sticks out of all my purses ...need a smaller one.

6.My cell phone

7.Lip liner and double sided lipstick...

8.And finally my glass nail file

9. ? Where is my wallet...better check the car.

I'm not tagging anyone ...so If you want to spill out your purse in front of a lot of other people... just tag yourself!
