I think that I have complained enough about this past winter.
My family wants a truce, even mother nature is waving the white flag,
and my poor blogging friends are begging for mercy!
So I thought that I would send you all a little poem to really tell you how flipping happy I am!
ODE TO SPRINGTIME
Oh,springtime..sweet springtime you're finally here!
The snow is all gone and
The skies are so clear
The robins are back
From their winter retreat
The air is so fresh
And the flowers are sweet
I've waited so long
For your joyous return
All through the winter
Oh, how I did yearn
To witness the splendor
That only you bring
The bursting of color
A new song to sing
You warm up the air
And the soil of the earth
To renewal and beauty you
gladly give birth
No other season
Can rival your deeds
You wash away gloom
You fulfill many needs
Your rains cleanse the air
Of the winters bleak look
You loosen its grip
On each babbling brook
You wake all of nature
From its winter sleep
(Even the insects that we wish you'd keep)
You bring forth the blooming
Of flowers and trees
You dust winters' ashes
With your gentle breeze
Your crocus and tulips
And daffodils too
Put on quite a show
With their colorful hue
The birds sing your praises
With songs crisp and clean
Oh, springtime sweet spring
You're a glorious thing
You work your magic oh, so well
There's just one mystery
You bring such beauty to the world
Why can't you work on me?(he he)

Have a glorius Spring, my friends!
I know that it's true, but it is so cold here that I have trouble believing it! Hope you are well. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring, Peg! Tif says it was 70 degrees the other day. That's fabulous! It's only March but April is right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteSylvia;
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for celebrating spring to early this year while you're not quite there yet. How bout I send mother nature an e-mail and maybe she will send it your way soon!
Hope your weekend ends on a warmer note!
Kay;
ReplyDeleteI know,it was even warmer down here in the middle! Julie riders her bike and she was in heaven. It's only in the higher 50's right now...which is fine with me!
March goes out like a lamb...so we're over half way there!
I know this is really going full circle but I have gifted you with the Award which you gifted to Susan...who gifted it to me. :)
ReplyDeleteSpring should come with gifts. I mentioned you in my blog today. Thanks!
Perfect! We need some thankfulness and silliness together when spring comes so late!
ReplyDeleteWe went for a drive today; I needed to just get away into the air. So of course it was as cold as ever...but things are starting to bloom and the trees are almost turning green, and tiny lambs are all over the fields.
FINALLY!
Happy Spring!
Hope;
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I have never been regifted an award before, such an honor for me. Wow...I'm going over and check out what you said. Thanks again!
Susan;
ReplyDeleteMy silly poem and the rest of my post was my solute to spring. I am so happy that you are getting some too. YAY!!!!
O Happy Spring!!
ReplyDeleteIt has been very "springish" here. That is one reason I have neglected my blogging. The weather has been too good to sit inside. We have been wearing shorts, cutting grass, weeding flower beds, etc.... Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI gave you an award its here on my blog Bella is reading .... I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am getting all my plants in the ground here. I felt the ground and it is warm enough. Yea spring.
ReplyDeleteA fun poem for a wonderful season!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Nice to meet you.
Yea for springtime! I liked your poem a lot. And did I thank you for the sisterhood award? It put a smile on my face! I don't really know how to get them on my website, and I would be nominating the same people as you did. Don't think for a moment that I didn't love it, cause I did. God bless you!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem Peggy! It must be on its way. Now about those under eye circles. Touche Eclat by Yves St Laurent. Its like a highlighter pen. You pat it on under your eyes and it immediately makes the whole area brighter. Its light and translucent. It may cost a bit but worth it. I have used it for years now. Go to a makeup counter and try it first to see if you like it. I love it. Plus I will look at what else I can find out from the 30s and onwards. Sometimes the old wives tales are the best. I love the picture of you and Peggy,it always makes me smile, you are both so gorgeous! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say the picture of you and Kay, duh!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely poem, thanks for sharing. Yes, as I feel a little chilled and look out at the rain, I it makes me think of the warmer days to come.
ReplyDeleteDenise;
ReplyDeleteJust the hope of spring is enough for me these days...warmer days are coming.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm enjoying every bit,
even the rain.
Thanks for leaving your comment!
Yea! Me too. This winter wasn't so hard on me like the past ones, maybe because I was outside most of the time.
