A Simple Thank You For Our Troops.

Gracie checking out the new cat ornament!

A friend of mine sent this to me the other day and I thought maybe some of you would like to participate too.
When I was in college, I corresponded with a friend who was sent to Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot. He contacted me about ten years ago and thanked me for all my letters. I was really touched by his call, and thrilled that he made it home safely.
We stopped corresponding a couple of months before he was due to ship back home, so I never knew if he made it home safely.
When I saw this E-mail, I thought of him and knew that I wanted to do something. Even though it's such a tiny gesture, It still felt good!

If you go to this web site, you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Whether we agree on the issues of war,... or not. We can all agree that the soldiers are fighting for us and putting their lives at stake every minute of everyday!

So wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?

  1. I did this and it felt good, also sent it to all my friends in an email. Cute photo of the kitty in the tree.

  2. I'm going there right now! Thanks for this Peggy! We can all use a feel good feeling and so can the men in Iraq and Afghanistan!

    Have a great day!

  3. Now that's Christmas spirit, much better than shopping! I love it.

  4. Lin;

    I sent it to my e-mail list too!
    I just smiled at myself after!

    Glad you want to send one, I love to share that feel good feeling!!
    Have a wonderful rest of your day!

    You're right, better then shopping!

  5. Right on.

    Amazing feline cuteness by the way.

  6. Laoch;

    Gracie says thank you.

    Thanks, made me feel good!

  7. Oh Gracie is adorable peeking from the tree! And Peggy, thank you so much for sharing this link with us. Now that is truly Christmas spirit! I shall send it on to my friends as well.

  8. Cheryl;

    There were two cats in that tree, the other one was hiding in the back of the tree. You should see the tree in the morning....
    I'm so glad you are going to pass the link on to your friends.
    Have a great weekend Cheryl!

  9. dars;

    That Gracie sure does love the Christmas tree all year long!
    Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.

  10. I love Gracie's photo there! How adorable.

    This thank you card idea is great, Peg. I'll be sure to do it.

  11. I'm with ya! Seems like we are stuck between a rock and a hard place [so to speak]. And the military men and women are in a terrible situation. God bless them and their families. And you are an angel to pass along this site to send some positive vibes!!

  12. Awe Mare, you're so sweet!
    Thank you so much

I love your comments, so spill !
