Quotable Sunday #20

Quotable Sunday is brought to you by Toni, from A Daily Dose of Toni - why don't you join us? Here are the basic and easy-to-follow rules...come on and join in, it's fun! ;)

The rules (for newbies)~Go to your blog and post one or more of your favorite quotes.~Go to Toni's and sign mister linky with the link to your post and then go visit the other participants and leave some comment love.~Spread the word of course...we want lots of Quotes to read. :)

This week I decided to share some of the quotes that my husband has sent to me over the past few months. He usually e-mails me one a day from work. So instead of a word a day, we do a quote a day. I love that he thinks of me during his hectic day, and he says that he loves that I love getting them!
Hope you enjoy this weeks quotes and have a great week ahead!

1.“What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage!”
Cowardly Lion
from The Wizard of Oz (1939)

32nd president of the United States

3. “There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.”
Louis L'Amour (1908–1988)

4. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Ferris Bueller

5. “The first rule is, to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are.”
Marcus Aurelius (121–180)

6. “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.”
Mother Teresa (1910–1997)

7. “You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.”
Ray Bradbury (1920 – )

8.“Never stop because you are afraid - you are never so likely to be wrong.”
Fridtjof Nansen (1861–1930)
Norwegian explorer

9. “What we do in life, echoes
in eternity.”
Maximus Decimus Meridias

10. “You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.”

11. “Make happy those who are near, and those who are far
will come.”
Chinese proverb

12. “This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one... the being a force of nature...”
George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

  4. Hi Peggy, I've seen your comments all around cyberspace, I'm surprised it's taking me so long to find your blog! Love your heading picture of the sunset in Chicago. Beautiful!

Lots of great quotes, and that's so sweet that your husband will send them to you. I love all quotes by Mother Teresa, so that one you posted is a favorite of mine.

But this one is so true too...

    Ferris Bueller

    Happy Sunday!

  5. I think Mary Pickford's quote is my favorite.

One I've learned to live by about 5 years ago? "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." I learned that one the heard way and it's so true!
