MIcrofiction Monday # 56

Welcome to Microfiction Monday.
Where a picture paints 140 characters.

Susan over stonyriver /hosts Microfiction Monday The rules are simple,to use Susan's picture she posts then compose a story up to 140 characters including spaces and punctuation.

So here is this weeks picture and my story to go with.

4th new school in three years, thought Bobby.
Mom's working, came by myself.
The hallway is long, so many doors.
Hope I make friends.

Now Leap on over to Susan's place and leave your name.
She even has a brilliant counter to help us count.
As Susan promises, it's fast, it's fiction, it's fun!

  1. Poor Bobby, 4 schools in 3 years. He must be tired of having to keep making new friends. Hopefully this will be Mom's Last move for a Spell. You have a great week ahead.

    Nicely done, my friend!

  4. Wow! Sounds like my mom. She had three schools in a year and a half and she remembers how traumatic it was for her. Your story is very poignant and beautifully phrased. Excellent!

I remember you bloging about your Mom having to change schools so many times. I know how I felt! Remember Julie, Jon and Nat at their first day of pre- school. :)

  9. With all that dust on the floor and all that paint chipping off the walls, Bobby has likely taken himself off to the wrong school and is going to find himself as lonely in this one as he is with his mom.

  10. Great, Poor Bobby got the wrong building or the school is soon to be closed.
Thanks Quilly, you made me laugh!

  11. Great, full-blooded MF. I was with the character in his nervous hopes. Well done!

    Have a great week.

  12. I've heard many people say how much they hated changing school all the time. I was fortunate in that I only changed schools twice. It's so hard to start over making friends! Good take on the picture.

  19. Oh, poor kid. And he didn't say it, but if all of them looked as bad as this one, he can't be in the best part of town. My fingers are crossed for him. His mom, too.

  25. Poor Bobby. It's so hard to make friends when you move around so much.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Poor kid! One of those schools didn't last for even a whole year. I'm thinking that his family moves around a lot. Some do.
I hadn't though schools for this. It does remind me of the school I taught at after almost everyone had left for the day.

  27. Poor Boy! New school ... possible new move ... possible new job for Mom. New is not always a good thing, especially when you feel all alone.

I think I must have been haunted last week because somehow I have got a completely different picture for this week's MM! :0

Still I've posted an entry, albeit to a different picture to everyone else! LOL

  38. That was me -- military kid. And at some bases, industrial surroundings with plaster and paint chipping were de riguer for schools!

    ReplyDelete
  39. It doesn't look a very welcoming place for Bobby. Still, it seems as if he might not be there very long!
