Will Never Forget!

It's me again from beneath the covers. I'm starting to feel like myself again, and with only one more to treatment to go at the end of September, I'm starting to believe that these wonderful feelings will only get stronger and stronger.

Like many people, I have been listening to the 911 coverage this morning and remembering that beautiful September day.  Not a cloud in the sky as I remember, a promise of a beautiful day.

My husband was working from home that morning and my son Kevin was there too.    I turned the news on and saw the first plane hit the tower.  Nobody knew at that time what was happening.  I had muted the sound, and I couldn't get my eyes off the screen!

My family and I watched in complete disbelief as a second plane hit the tower straight on, no doubt, no accident!   Well you all know the rest, and like when Kennedy was assassinated,
we will never forget where we were and what we were doing on Sept 11.2001.

A friend from high school sent me this video yesterday and I wanted to share with,... who else,... YOU! OK , I cried,... but such a beautiful tribute!

Another beautiful fall morning awaits me and I can't wait to enjoy every breath of it.

Bye for now.  Have a great week ahead.

  1. Hi Peg, I'm just doing a quick drop-by. It's really crazy over at our house right now. I can't believe we ended up with week-long guests two days after returning home from Alaska. I'm so exhausted. Ah well... just have to hold on until Tuesday. Did you get my message that we'd love to visit with you guys?

We'll be in Illinois from September 26th for a month. Thank goodness my brother, Dennis will be able to be with my mom, not to mention my nephew and his wife.

Can we see you guys either in Chicago or we can come down south? We know how draining your treatments have been.

  2. I'm glad to see you back at the keyboard..you've been missed!

I spent this morning at my hometown Fire Dept. (as you can tell on the blog)which meant even more than usual. We've been doing "Make a wish for sr. citizens" and one wanted to see the Fire Station. We toured last week, went for a ride in the ladder truck and our 30 minute tour was almost 2 hours! It was so odd to go back today for a solemn service and to see the faces of the men who'd given us the tour light up in recognition. Too cool!

Keep feeling better and better! You're obviously on the right road. :)

  5. I too can remember that terrible morning as if it were yesterday. Got a phone call from my sister to turn on the tv, that a plane had hit one of the towers. I was doing breakfast dishes at Mark's apartment and he was getting ready for work. I stood there in shock and saw the second plane hit. Mark left for work and I couldn't bring myself to leave his apartment to go home...I felt so sad and scared at the same time. I wanted to run to my two youngest children's school and bring them home with me but knew that I couldn't...
