I'm Tagged, You Could Be It !
My good friend Hope tagged me for this 8 questions meme a few days ago. She had been tagged by another blogging friend Thom a few days before that and so it goes. So being a sucker for good friends and a good meme, I decided to play along.
There are 8 simple question to this meme, so it shouldn't take too long. If you're game for some truth telling, this should be a piece of cake.
1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging about two years ago when my friend Kay and her husband stopped by to see Jim and I. They were on their way out to California to catch a plane for their big move to Hawaii. I remember Kay had just started blogging a few months before visiting with us, and she enjoyed it so much that she thought it would be a good fit for ME too.
Yikes and holy crud I first thought and in the beginning it was not such an easy fit. I was scared to death the first month (scared of what, I have no idea) but after a while, I met so many nice people, and to this day I am very thankful to Kay for what I call a gift.
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world with no restriction of costs, where would it be and why?
Let's see...so many choices, so little time.
The first place that I would love to visit is Ireland. My husband and I would love to take our three children to Ireland for a family vacation. Images of Chevy Chase from the the movie "Vacation" are racing through my brain right now.
Next question please!
3. Did you have a teacher in school that had a great influence on your life? If so, what?
My 3RD and 4Th grade teacher, Mrs Jacobson, was just the best. She spoke fluent Spanish and taught her class whatever we could absorb. Foreign language wasn't part of the curriculum at the time, but I loved it.
I also learned to truly love reading, writing and poetry because of her.
She was originally my 3Rd grade teacher, but bumped up to the 4TH grade for my next year. I felt like I won the lottery! Bless you Mrs J. wherever you are!
4. If you could spend the day with a famous person, who would it be, and what would you do?
No question, I would spend the day with my brother Bobby that died when I was 9. I used to look for him for years after he was hit by a train.
He may not have been famous for anyone else, but he was my superstar.
5. Toilet paper – over or under?
I love this question...? Under!
6. Name one thing in your life that you would do over if possible.
Oh my gosh there are many things, that in hindsight, I would do differently if given a second chance. I'm a true believer in the words "when you know better, you do better"
So I try not to beat myself up with regrets. If I learn not to repeat the mistake, I feel like I'm on the right road.
7. Tell about your pets – if any.
My husband and I have had dogs and cats all of our married life. When our last Lab, Wheaton died, we decided to give ourselves 6 months before we picked our next Furkid. Six months turned into 2 years before we adopted the next member of the family. We named her Gracie, and a year after Gracie, we adopted another kitty, Winston.
8. Do you live in a small town or a large town?
I am currently living in a small college town of approx 100,000. I miss the big city of Chicago for many reasons, but smaller is good too.
Now I'm supposed to tag other people for this meme, but I think that I will leave that decision up to you.
Have a great weekend everybody and thanks again Hope for the tag!

To be perfectly honest it was actually a selfish reason that I wanted you to start blogging. I felt that if you started blogging too, I could always feel like you were there whenever I wanted to see you. I know it seems weird because I could just e-mail you or call, but this way, for some reason, I felt like we would be even more connected. :-)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I loved reading all your answers.
