What I've learned so far!



I have been in a small funk these past few days, maybe it's the weather(rainy), maybe it's lack of sleep... or maybe it's just the ebb and flow of my life these days.
I sometimes feel that I should be doing more, that I should live bigger, larger. I feel guilty for not doing something new and fun every minute, "Carpe diem" my friends say.
While surfing the net today, I found these quotes by Maya Angelou. Then a funny thing happened, I realized that I was having fun, I am living my life and I am communicating and sharing ideas.
It may not be everybody's idea of fun, but I'm Ok with that.
I'm happy now,I'll worry about tomorrow,...tomorrow!

  6. I think we all have days like that, darn it! You have a marvelous blog and you are an inspiration with your laughter and ability to see past the dark side.

    I know I have to sit down and take stock of all the wonderful things in my life and I do, as you know, the quote thing every evening because they help me keep focused.

    I'm just so glad I've had the opportunity to get to know you in this wonderful blogging land!

    And I love Maya Angelou, too!

  7. What an amazing photo in your header. It shouts "yes, things will be better tomorrow". I'm sorry you've been in a funk, but that happens to most of us. When you measured yourself by your own standards and not someone elses, you discovered you were happy and productive. There's a lesson in there.

  11. Sorry, been having computer issues due to lightning...thankfully the Internet provider corrected it free of charge.

    Yep, I totally understand. I've been reading the book "In The Hot Zone: 1 Man, 1 Year, 20 conflicts" by Kevin Sites. He's like a one man reporting tornado whose self proclaimed mission is to make Americans see that conflict lies past our borders. It's fascinating, even in a sad way sometimes, because rather than all business journalist, you see the humanity shine through. He's also been on a reality show recently, "Expedition Africa" and his kindness is just so evident.
    Ironically today I read a passage where he wonders if he is making a difference in life.

    I had to smile while thinking, "Yes. You made me stop and take another look at the world."

    We effect others in the most wonderful ways sometimes. You made me feel better just by sharing what you feel...something we've all felt before.

    So we're not alone. Nice thought.
