Microfiction Monday;

Welcome to Microfiction Monday,
where a picture paints 140 characters.

Susan over at stonyriver hosts Microfiction Monday. I still can't believe that I can write something on my blog in under 140 words.

The rules are simple,to use Susan's picture she posts then compose a story up to 140 characters including spaces and punctuation.
Then hop on over to Susan's and leave your name. She even has a brilliant gadget to help us count.
Design 215's character counter

As Susan promises, it's fast, it's fiction, it's fun.

Here's this week's picture, and my story to go with it:

As the pretty teen crested the hill in her Dad's car,
she never looked back.
"Hollywood will love me,then Dad can't be mad!"
she prayed.

  2. Great story for the day, Peggy! If I hadn't taken on so much by accepting the offer to be a team member on Sky Watch and That's my world I would have to give this one a try and who knows I may do it anyway -- one of these days.

    Have a great week!

  3. OMG!!
    I wonder if Dad is home more worried about his car or his daughter! LOL
    I hope the poor thing made it big somehow...

  4. Susan;

    Probably not, she sold the car for food and eventually called dad and asked him for a ticket home! She's home now, working at the Walmart! At least she tried it, and found out that it wasn't for her! Her small town is looking pretty good to her now!

    Sylvia;

    I hope you will try it when things calm down for you!
    Hopefully I will improve by then!
    Thanks Sylvia!

  7. I was going to comment on the Best Luck happening until I read your reply to Susan.

    And I thought she'd be having her own personal driver after this. I guess it turned out to be Dad.

  9. Bill;

    Nope, she didn't make it in Tinseltown, but she made it in Boise. I forgot to mention that she married a teacher and they have one beautiful daughter.
    She won't have to worry about little Susan going to Hollywood for a very long time!
    I love the after sory too, thanks Bill!

  11. Well, prayer is always useful, especially when 'borrowing' dad's Rolls Royce! Lovely short story!

  12. I think your right,prayer is in order here!

  13. This story could be a non fiction piece. How many young girls must have done just this?

  14. Kay;

    Many, I'm sure. All with stars in their eyes!

  15. Good morning, Pretty Peggy-O! I'm behind on reading these and yours is last and certainly not least. I cna't decide if I'm on the Dad's side or on the girl's. Good take on the picture.

  16. I hope this comment doesn't come through twice: when I tried to publish it the first time, I got a window saying "Service unavailable."

    Anyway, I thought you did a great job here creating a full story in only 140 characters!

  17. I certainly hope she makes it in the big old Hollywood. We don't want her dad mad at her :) Good for her wanting to make a name for herself. Well done :)

  18. Sounds reasonable to me. After all, she'll become a star and be able to pay for her Dad's therapy. :)

    I'm glad you're playing.

  19. Hope;

    Unfortunitly it didn't work out in Hollywood for our girl. She's back home now, married to a teacher and has a little girl(Susan) of her own.
    Dad's has fogiven her for the car and is happy to be a grandfather.
    I like doing this,and you're the reason! Not as good as I would like, but I'm working on it and happy !
    Thanks my friend.
