One of my very good friends passed away this past week. I debated and debated with myself (what a conversation that was) on whether I should share with you this song for QS. (Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton)

My friend Suzi would have left a funny comment on my comment page about this song, and that makes it worth it for me. She would probably say something like " Oh come on Peggy, snap out of this sappy, sad stuff,
no time for this, we have important things to do you and I!"
So here goes, I hope you enjoy and thank you for stopping by.

This verse in the song is my favorite.
"Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven"

My friend is at peace, and there will be no more tears from her now.
Best part for me is that Suzi will be getting such a kick of of this!

Tears in Heavan
By Eric Clapton

(CHORUS)
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong
And carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way
Through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please

Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven

What a perfect choice this week! And how I hate goodbyes, Peggy; you and Suzi have been in my prayers.

  2. OH, that didn't come out right! I meant I hate *saying* goodbye to someone I love, so your farewells to your friend have touched me deeply--but the last part I said right. I've been thinking of you an awful lot. (Jeez! --but you know what I meant, right?)

  3. A guitar plus a song from the heart has so much power ... Eric says it just right doesn't he?

  6. Eric Clapton wrote this song after the death of his son, didn't he? It's so sad.

I'm thinking about you, Peg and holding you in my heart.

  7. I think we've all been thinking about you this week.

And that is the perfect song; the musical tune itself is soothing rather than sad. I'm sure Suzi approves. :)

You are correct, Clapton wrote this song after his son fell from a highrise window left open!

I think we all here, cradle each other when we need too.
We are so nourished by our group.
