Musical Monday #8 Imagine?

Musical Monday might be brought to you this week by Mimi .
To tell the truth, I'm not sure who's bringing it this week or next.
I'm posting anyway, regardless of who's hosting.
I just love this song and maybe we can all "Imagine" a better world on this Memorial Day, 2010!
Have a great day and see you next time.

The rules are very simple, post a song that's moved you in some way during the past week .

Rolling Stone magazine unveiled its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in a special collector's issue. The magazine complies this list to get people thinking and comparing songs, musicians, styles and eras
"It only works when people argue about it" said Rolling Stone contributing editor Alan Light.
And argue we will, that's for sure!

So this week, I picked "Imagine" by John lennon;
For me it stands the test of time and is one of my all time favorite songs.
It comes in at # 3 on the 500 greatest songs ever list. (2010)
It's the one that I've been humming this week, maybe you will too.
Happy Memorial Day everyone here for Musical Monday.

Imagine by John Lennon
Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.

  1. I love his songs...popular when I was in my 30s long ago. They all had a message of peace or awareness.

  2. This is about the only song I liked that he did when he wasn't with the Beatles. Good choice. :)
