Spring has Sprung

Spring is here, not officially, but you can smell it in the air!
That's enough for me for now!
I wanted to celebrate by posting one of my favorites!
Hope you enjoy!

What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the philosophic mind.
-- William Wordsworth

  1. Slendor in the Grass was a movie with Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood that back in the 70's was a real tear jerker.
    In reference to springtime and flowers, I can't wait to smell the hyacinths, and see my plate sized hibuscus bloom. I love flowers.
    Hope your health is steady and your spirits good. What's the status of adopting that 2 year old adorable dog that will give you hugs everyday?

  3. Mare;

    Health is still steady, thank you for asking. I get tired but then I rest and go again. It's good by me!
    The doggie is on the burner but the back burner for now. When we go to Chicago for Dr visits there won't be anybody home maybe for 15 hours...so still working on the details.
    So glad your up and typing, I missed you!

  4. Sylvia;

    I can hold on if you can. At least the grass is getting greener! I love green! Don't you just love green, Sylvia?
    Flowers will follow, just under the surface.

  5. It's been lovely here, too. I have to get busy and think about what I want to plant this year.

  6. Kay D;

    It's good to have lots of things to look forward too. I have to decide what I want to plant too. Usually plant on Mother's Day...but sometimes before cause I can't wait!

  9. Whenever I read this poem, it does always remind me of that poignant movie. There's so much truth and beauty in this poem. Have a great day today. I'm recuperating from St. Patrick's Day.

  11. I wish I could tell the difference between winter and spring, but here in Miami we go from warm and humid to hot and humid. Sometimes we get a Christmas breeze, but not always.

    Happy Spring to you!! :)

  12. Scarlet;

    I know what you mean. When I lived in California, I was always wishing the same. I would love to live where you live at least 1/2 of the year!
    Thanks for your comment, we forget about you warm weather people, we just assume that you love your weather all year!

  14. Lilly;

    I have to admit that i am ready for spring this year. Gonna go out and feel the earth to see if it's warm enough to plant flowers. I can wait for a couple more weeks just to be sure. Sorry to talk about spring when you're getting cooler but maybe you've had enough?
